Two-Hand Dancing

 

There are many two-hand dances of both Irish and Scottish background danced in Ireland as dances crossed borders when people moved from one country to the other, eg:

  • Jig - Two Hand Jig

  • Reel - Two Hand Reel, Round the House

  • Hornpipe - Irish Barn Dance, Stack of Barley, Fermanagh Hornpipe, Cornrigs

  • Slide - Peeler and the Goat

  • Waltz - Northern Irish Pride of Erin, Killarney Waltz

  • Fling - Fitzer’s Fling, Highland, Three Hand Highland

  • Mazurka - Shoo the Donkey

  • Schottische - Back to Back Hornpipe

  • March - Military Two Step.
