Learning More

There are a number of summer schools (Scoil Samhraidh) in Ireland that have classes, workshops, céilithe, concerts, recitals and lectures. Attending such summer schools is one way anyone can further their education; indeed a good many members of the Sydney Irish Céilí Dancers have attended these summer schools.

Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy - Willie Clancy Summer School

  • Established in 1973, it is held annually in Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare during the first week of July

South Sligo Summer School of Music , Song and Dance

  • Established in 1987, it is held annually in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo during the second week of July

Joe Mooney Summer School of Traditional Irish Music

  • Established in 1989,  it is held annually in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim  during in the third week of July
